What's in the bag?

Happy Monday, everyone! I'm still stuck at home with a swollen face and an ice pack on my jaw, so there hasn't been much to do lately. Anywho, earlier this month, as a lot of you already know, I participated in a contest on a local lookbook called styleby.me. The turnout was lovely and the site gained a lot of new users, which makes me very happy! With all the help and support of my friends and fellow bloggers, I ended up winning the competition and was given a package of really sweet gifts, coming to about $900 in total. I'm very thankful for everyone that helped me stay ahead in the competition!

Anna of Tulip Louise, one of the founders of Styleby.me met with me at the public library to exchange questions and my goodies. She's so adorable and sweet and I'm so glad to have met her! You can view the interview here: http://nwa.styleby.me/blog/2011/2/28/10-days-of-valentines-day-contest-winner-interview.html

Also, how do you all feel about my new hairstyle? I wanted to try something different, a modern pinup if you will, so I pulled back some tight curls with a nice girly flower. Feedback please! <3

wisdom.

I'm finally doing another post! It's been entirely too long, but I've been so busy with school and choir and the musical, not to mention a new job on top of that! I haven't had time to do another outfit post because of my schedule, plus the weather's been a bit yucky this week, so instead I'll just promote my photos and such.

I just recently did a shoot with my friend Maggie of Confessions of a Drama Major while the snow was thicker than ever. Although I'm a little late and the weather is significantly warmer, I'll still post a few photos here as well as links to my Facebook and Flickr.

I won't have another post for a while because I'm getting oral surgery tomorrow and I'll probably be feeling too icky to write anything. Enjoy your week(end)!

Playing Pretend.

Need to paint my toenails.

This was a joke pose, I promise.

I planned on doing another snow outfit post today, but I wasn't planning on almost two feet of snow hitting good old Fayetteville, Arkansas! So, out of complete boredom at around 11 p.m. I decided to do a mini shoot in my house. Since all I did was lay around all day and watch the constant snowfall, I didn't feel much like setting up the studio lights (they're in the garage). Instead, I got this terribly incandescent lamp from my room and put it to the right of a sheet that I pinned up in the front of my house.

Anyway, this is the result of a lot of boredom, a white sheet, a standing lamp and my photoshop frenzy.

Happy snow daze, everybody! G'night. <3

Competitive.

So, I'm probably the most competitive person I know. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it can cause me to be a little more driven than I ought to be in some circumstances.

In my case right now, it's a "Like My Style" type contest on a local lookbook, stylebe.me. They're holding a Valentines contest for the first ten days of February and I am currently in the lead with the most cumulative likes on my looks. Anyway, this post is to simply showcase my looks (most of them have been posted here anyway) in order to get more likes! Each of the following pictures will have a link above it leading to the site where you can "like" it. I greatly appreciate any and all support! Thanks so much for all of the votes already. <3

Also, I'd like to thank my friend Lily for helping me get so many votes! She's been so consistent in posting my styles on her facebook and twitter and she's always commenting on my blog! Love this dedication, so sweet.

black & white & red all over.

So, I have officially had a one day school week. There has been so much snow and ice on the ground that it is near impossible for me to get out anywhere, so I decided to do an outfit post today since it was a little warmer than past days.

I was inspired by the branches on these trees near my house and by the purity of the snow out on the trail, so I wore this simple tunic and skirt with a red lip. I didn't want to add too much color because I love the mixture of the shades of gray, black, and white.

Anyway, I should probably try and be productive today so I'm going to do some cleaning!

P.S. If you haven't already check out styleby.me, go do that now! You can find my looks here and here. Please go "like" my looks to keep me in the lead to win a prize worth $900!

Have a lovely day, everyone! <3

Happy February.

I've mentioned in previous posts a local lookbook called styleby.me. I love the fact that new styles are submitted daily and everyone gets an opportunity to show off their own style! Recently (as in yesterday) they expanded to the city of Nashville, which is also really neat because I get to see what people in another state are wearing. Anyway, I highly encourage anyone that reads my blog to submit your style, or at least visit the page! There are some really unique, cool looks there!

Styleby.me is having a February contest and giving away $900 in really sweet prizes, which will be revealed daily. The contest goes until the 10th of this month and voting is counted by how many "likes" a person gets on their submissions.

I'd really appreciate it if you all voted for my style here as well as any of my other submissions in the future. I'll try to post daily, so keep on the lookout!

You can follow styleby.me on Twitter and on Facebook.

On a different note, can someone find me a Valentine?!
